First Ever Singles Week in Grenada
The first single divers week ever held in Grenada was a great success.
A week long fun, great diving, delicious dining and parties.
Its fulminanter peak was the tacky tourist contest:

And the winner of a 3 nights stay at True Blue Bay Resort in 2008 is Stan:

John Morris dives the Underwater Sculpture Park

John Morris, visiting the Carribbean for the cricket world cup and business, took some time off his busy schedule to enjoy a couple of dives with Aquanauts.
He took particular liking to "SIENNA", the sculpture inspired by a short story from Grenadian writer Jacob Ross.

Stingray Takeoff

Last week we had a fantastique dive on Lighthouse Reef - big turtle, big nurse shark and this huge stingray.
Lucky enough we got a shot right as the stingray took off leaving nothing but a big cloud of sand.

Charlene became Divemaster
After 3 hard weeks it's done. Our longterm staff member Charlene became PADI Divemaster.

It wasn't easy. Especially the physics theory part was not. But finally the few hard weeks of studying, training, exams and work paid of. And Aquanauts Grenada has a new Divemaster.

Of course Charlene is not finished with her continuing dive education. She already enrolled in the Divemaster DSD program.

Congratulations from the whole Aquanauts team, Charlene!

Lucky students watched feeding stingray
Last week we had some lucky Open Water students. They could watch a big stingray feeding.

The Austrian couple Simon & Katja and the German Lufthansa pilot Horst did their second open water dive for the PADI Open Water course. Suddenly their instructor Gerald headed towards a cloud of sand stirred up from the bottom. When they approached the cloud the students realized what caused that cloud - a big STINGRAY!

The ray was feeding and tried to dig something out from underneath a coral block. Unimpressed by the presence of the small group of divers it continued it's task. Katja, Simon and Horst had plenty of time to watch that southern stingray from all different angles and a short distance.

What an adventure! After they surfaced they couldn't hide their excitement. But that's easy to understand - probably an unforgetable experience.
